Caleb is a cheerful and resilient young boy who was born with an upper limb difference known as transverse arrest, meaning his right arm stopped developing just beyond the elbow. Despite this challenge, He has adapted impressively to a world built for people with two hands.

His family’s life took a positive turn when they connected with the Limbo Foundation, an organization supporting individuals with limb differences. At a Fun Day event, Caleb encountered Open Bionics and tried on a bionic ‘Hero Arm’ for the first time, sparking excitement about the prospect of using both hands.
Generous contributions from The Open Bionics Foundation, The Worshipful Company of Glovers, and an anonymous donor have covered the cost of two Hero Arms, making Caleb’s family one of three selected to benefit from this program.

Currently, the community is rallying to raise £20,000 for a third Hero Arm, so every child can enjoy this transformative technology. By working together, the families hope to give Caleb and others the gift of a second hand, opening doors to greater independence and opportunity.
